About Us

Cheryl's Dance Centre' has been in business for 34 years in Reidsville, NC. The studio is owned by Cheryl Williams and co-owned by her daughter Ashley Wade. Cheryl started dancing at the age of 4 and continued to dance all through her school years plus college. She attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance in 1982. Ashley started dancing at the age of 2 and followed in her mothers footsteps by continuing to dance all through her school years plus college. She also attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in dance in 2014. They have been teaching together for several years and plan to continue their love and passion for the art of dance.

Cheryl has worked with the Rockingham County Junior Miss Program in the past. She also participated in the Junior Miss Program when she was a senior in high school and placed 2nd overall. Ashley also participated in the Junior Miss Program her junior year of high school and won a talent scholarship.

Cheryl's Dance Centre' has performed in many October festivals in downtown Reidsville, NC. We have performed in the Macy's Day Parade in New York City and had the opportunity to take classes with well-known choreographers. We have performed in the Orange Bowl Halftime Show in Florida with Kool and The Gang (which was televised). We also had the opportunity to take classes in Florida with Cris Judd, Mandy Moore, Longinus Fernandes, Stacy Walker and The Spellman Sisters. We have performed in the Harlem Globetrotters Halftime Show in Danville, VA. The dancers have also performed at Carowinds, several malls for Christmas performances, local nursing homes as well as local church events. We will continue to perform at upcoming events. 

 

Cheryl's Dance Centre' has attended many dance conventions such as: Ray Hollingsworth, Tremaine, ShowStoppers and Hollywood Dance Jamz. Some of the artists we took classes from were: Marty Dew, Laurie Johnson, Keri LaGrand, Douglas Caldwell, Joe Tremaine, Angel Roberts, Hayley Mac, Joshua Allen, Janelle Issis, Gev Manoukian, Geo Hubela, KC Monnie, Dena Rizzo, Courtney Russ, Aaron Burr, Barry Youngblood, Joy Spears, Melissa Emrico and Marko Germar.
