Class Levels ...

Mommy & Me

Ages 1.5-2.5 This class is designed to allow each mom to help her child develop motor and coordination skills in a fun, structured environment. It is a wonderful opportunity for babies to get in on the dance fun before they are old enough to join class on their own. 

 

​Creative Dance                                
Ages 3-4.  No previous training. Emphasis is on creative movement.

 

Tot Hip-Hop

Ages 3-4. No previous training. Intro to basic hip-hop movement.

 

Tot Tap

Ages 3-4. No previous training. Intro to basic tap movement.
 
Beginner Ballet I
Ages 5-6.  Basic ballet steps and creative movement. 

 

​Beginner Ballet II
Ages 7-8.  Basic ballet technique with little or no prior training.

​

Beginner Ballet III

Ages 9-10.  Ballet technique with some prior training.

​

​

Junior Ballet/Lyrical
Ages 11-12. Intermediate ballet technique with a mixture of ballet and jazz movements that interprets the music with emotion.

 

 

​Senior Ballet/Lyrical
Ages 13-18. Intermediate-Advanced ballet technique with a mixture of ballet and jazz movements that interprets the music with emotion.

 

Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Ages 10-18. Classical ballet movement showing pointe technique with control.

Beginner Jazz III

Ages 7-9. Basic jazz technique with jazz warmup barre. Choreography ranges from Broadway to Pop. This class also includes turns, jumps and progressions.​

Junior Jazz
Ages 9-12. Basic jazz technique with jazz warmup barre. Choreography ranges from Broadway to Pop. This class also includes turns, jumps and progressions.​

​Senior Jazz
Ages 13-18. Intermediate-Advanced jazz technique with jazz warmup barre. Choreography ranges from Broadway to Pop. This class also includes turns, jumps and progressions. 

 

 

Beginner Tap I
Ages 5-6. Basic tap technique. Tap is a percussive style of dance utilizing musicality and rhythm. 

 

Beginner Tap II

Ages 6-8. Basic tap technique. Tap is a percussive style of dance utilizing musicality and rhythm.

 

Beginner III/Junior Tap

Ages 7-12. Intermediate tap technique. Junior tap builds on the emphasis of clean tap sounds, rhythm and coordination.

 

Senior Tap

Ages 13-18. Intermediate-Advanced tap technique. Senior tap focuses on more complex rhythmic structures and movements.

Clogging

Ages 7-18. Clogging is a truly American dance form that began in the Appalachian Mountains using feet as an instrument to make rhythmic and percussive sounds accompanied by music. We implement both traditional and contemporary styles.

​Beginner Hip-Hop I
Ages 5-6. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. Students will begin to build basic hip hop vocabulary while working on combinations that focus on coordination, personal style and expression. 

 

Beginner Hip-Hop II

Ages 7-8. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. Students will begin to build basic hip hop vocabulary while working on combinations that focus on coordination, personal style and expression. 

 

Beginner Hip-Hop III

Ages 9-10. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. Students will learn hip hop vocabulary while working on combinations that focus on coordination, personal style, and expression along with freestyle, popping and locking.

Junior Hip-Hop

Ages 9-12. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. Students will learn hip hop vocabulary while working on combinations that focus on coordination, personal style, and expression along with freestyle, popping and locking.

Senior Hip-Hop

Ages 13-18. Intermediate-Advanced. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. This class focuses on popping, locking, gliding, and breaking as well as the latest street movements and freezes. 

 

Boys Only Hip-Hop 

Ages 5-18. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. This class focuses on popping, locking, tutting, gliding and breaking as well as the latest street movements and freezes.

Tot Tumble

Ages 3-5. Tumble is an intro class to floor tumbling. They will learn basic acro skills through exciting obstacles. They learn a tumbling dance as well.

​

​Beginner Tumble

Ages 6-8. (by level ability also) This class teaches the basics of floor tumbling  with a strong emphasis on stretching and strengthening exercises, which will prepare the student for more advanced work. Basic moves learned include things such as Splits, Backbends, Rolls and Cartwheels. 

 

Intermediate Tumble

Ages 7-12. (by level ability also) This class focuses on floor tumbling including cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers, handsprings, etc. This class teaches tumbling skills that pertain to dance.

Advanced Tumble

Ages 7-12. (by level ability also) This class focuses on floor tumbling including walkovers, handsprings, aerials, etc. This class teaches tumbling skills that pertain to dance.

 

Adult Classes

Ages 18 and up. Classes offered are: "Let' Get Physical" and "Diva Dance." These classes are for any adult with little or no previous dance training. 

 

Alumni Classes

Ages 18 and up. Classes offered are: Lyrical, Jazz and Hip-Hop. These classes are for any adult who has had several years of training and has danced with us in the past.

 

Competition Company

Competition Companies are made up of students who desire to be on a Dance Company that participates in local and national level dance competitions. The Competition Company requires more hours of dance per week where technique is the main focus. Auditions for the Competition Company take place in the early summer. Centre' Stage Dance Company has received "Super Sport" Awards, "Exceptional Choreography" Awards, and many "Overall" Awards. The dancers have also received many invitations to attend MVP opening numbers, Youth Ambassdor program, and Fusion Stars. Cheryl's Dance Centre' teaches that competing is not all about winning but supporting others in the amazing art of dance.
